PR is not advertising!
If you ask a student or practitioner of Public Relations, you may find a hundred different answers.
For example, Wikipedia has an entry, and the industry association CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) has a short answer too. Even the folks at howstuffworks threw its take on it. So while everyone has an idea of what public relations (PR) is, let’s keep it simple:
Public Relations (PR)
is the art and science of endearing your brand through truthful communication in earned (unpaid) media to all your stakeholders.
